The “Bendición II” (Blessing II) committee arose through the initiative and support of a group of women who was working there. This committee is from the city of San Lorenzo and the members set as their main goal their individual growth both personally and work related.
Marian is one of the members and she comments that she works sewing and that thanks to her work and effort she’s been able to get ahead and give her family everything they need for a proper life.
She asked for the loan to buy fabric, thread, glue, buttons and other supplies that are necessary for her to continue working.

The 'Las Positivas' community bank has eight responsible and committed members who are working within the Prosperity Program. Marisol is one of the members of this group. She is 36 years old, lives with her partner, and has four children. She is currently still supporting three of her children. Marisol's business is making desserts such as pies, empanadas, cakes, etc. to order. She started out working with a family member in a bakery and decided to use the knowledge that she gained to start her own business. She also works providing domestic services. Thanks to her work and dedication, Marisol has been able to help her husband with their household expenses. Her goal for the future is to set up her own bakery where she can sell her products. She will use the loan that she has requested to buy supplies such as flour, sugar, milk and molds for her business. The 'Las Positivas' community bank are grateful for the loan that they are receiving and pledge to continue working well. Marcelline plans to use the loan to buy more perfumes, soaps, and milk to sell in her shop. Her business strategy is to offer competitive prices against other businesses in the market.
Marcelline has received three previous loans from Kiva partner HOPE Congo. She has a very good repayment record. She wants to continue to expand her business. Marcelline hopes to be able to fund both of her children's college education.

Um is a diligent and humble farmer who has been residing in a peaceful village of Batey district, Kompong Cham province. She is 46 years old and has seven single children. Um owns some farmland for her rice farming business, from which she provides enough sustenance for the family. She works in this business with her spouse and a few children who always help her in their free time.
Um wants to maintain her business and make a good harvest in the coming season. She is requesting a loan from HKL, a partner of Kiva, to purchase seeds, fertilizers, lubricant oil and pesticides to ensure a high production. This loan will enable Um to drive her business towards her goal. In the future, Um intends to save money to buy a threshing machine and an extra plot of land to further develop her business.
